During my time within the print department at Funimation (now Crunchyroll), I was tasked with designing home video products of all shapes and sizes – exploring everything from specialty print techniques to digital title screens – all while localizing Japanese designs to a North American audience.
Oftentimes the Japanese licensor would supply an English logo variant, but occasionally one would need to be created. The examples of Inari Kon Kon and Terror in Resonance are original logo designs, while the HAL lockup was provided in Japanese and I replicated the design in English.
